Vancouver, British Columbia

Vancouver is the transporation, industrial, commercial, and cultural hub for the entire Lower Mainland region (now known as Metro Vancouver) which has an estimated 2.2 million people. From the Port of Vancouver which handles over 60 million metric tons of cargo [source Port of Vancouver, to that famous shopping street downtown Vancouver is the economic heart of the region.

Vancouver is recognized as one of the most livable cities in the world [source CNN] and with over 200 parks (including the world famous Stanley Park there is no end to the activities taking place in the beautiful outdoor areas, and Vancouver plans to keep it that way! The Livable Region Strategic Plan or LRSP aims to protect the natural beauty of the area while planning for the growth and development for the region on a whole.

As the host of the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games, Development of Vancouver is as furious as ever. With many upgrades to existing and construction of new venues, there are many facilities available for the active family.
